What is PLC?

Programmable Logic Controller or PLC is a computing system used to control electromechanical processes. It is designed for multiple input and output arrangements. It endures harsh environments and controls output for various devices such as displays, lights and valves. It is an example of hard real time system; the output results are produced in response to input within targeted time. PLCs are used to control machinery in factories, amusement parks, hospitals, hotels, military, traffic signals and construction.
